Shvonne meet the animals in Singapore Zoo

Wildlife Reserves Singapore

This is Shvonne’s first time to Singapore Zoo. And, our simple plan was to catch up the 4 shows, wet play, tram rides and enjoy some zoo fun activities. We reach Singapore Zoo around 10.10 am and immediately rush to the first show splash safari that start at 10.30am as shown below.

In short,  Singapore Zoo is renowned for its ‘open concept’ in a rainforest environment. Generally, the animals here live in spacious and landscaped environments, simulating that of their natural habitats.

Splash Safari Show
You can witness the sea lion gracefully glide on water, effortlessly balance a ball on its nose as well as many special moments. The Splash Safari Show happens at 10.30am and 5pm daily at Shaw Foundation Amphitheatre and the show approx. 20 mins.

Animal Friends Show
The second show start 11.00am, so we have to rush to animal friends show within 10 minutes.  The animal friends show featuring domestic animals such as dogs and cat at Rainforest KidzWorld Amphitheatre. It is held at Rainforest KidzWorld Amphitheatre at 11 am and 4 pm.

We actually didn’t cuddle up with their adorable animals and have our pictures taken as we ‘re going to the next show “Elephant presentation”.

The Elephant Presentation
Elephants at Singapore Zoo will no longer be commanded to perform during shows, as part of a shift in its model of care. So, the Asian elephant show only display their natural behaviour and showcases how magnificent these megaherbivores are.

The elephant Presentation (Approx. 20 mins) held at Elephant of Asia at 11.30 am and 3.30 pm. To addon, visitors can also swing by to feed the elephants at 9.15 AM, 1.30 PM and 4.30 PM

Rainforest Fights Back
Last show, Rainforest Fights Back (approx. 20 mins) is an informative and entertaining presentation that brings together a diverse range of rainforest animals. Deforestation is causing our rainforest friends to lose their homes. Otters, snakes, macaws, lemurs, spider monkeys and more join tails to battle for the future of their habitat and our planet in this show. The show held at Shaw Foundation Amphitheatre at 12.30pm and 2.30pm.

Next, a round of tram rides and we stop at Rainforest Kidzworld.

By riding the tram, we can explore the park at a more relaxed pace and listen to stories about the animals. The rides are unlimited and start from 8.30am to 5.30pm daily. Price: Adult S$5 Child S$3.

Buddy Barn
Shvonne step into Buddy Barn, where she can enter and interact with the rabbits. In short, there are three session there, and open from 10:00am to 5.00pm daily.

Next, we went to Wet Play area to have some fun. It is a wet wonderland with a colorful array of sprayers, climbers, and a variety of zippy water-flushed slides and tubes. Afterwhile, having our KFC lunch there!

We continued walking from Australasia to Wild Africa to see the animals. Video available here (unedited). Last, the souvenir shop and heading back home around 5pm.  Before that, we managed to catch up the “animal mascot dance” at 5pm as shown below.

For the moment, the dance available at 5pm on weekend and pubic holidays in the Singapore Zoo entrance courtyard. As a whole, it is a wonderful destination for family outings. End!
